The 442nd Regimental Combat Team was an infantry regiment of the United States Army composed almost entirely of American soldiers of Japanese ancestry who fought in World War II. This was during the same time that Japanese Americans were being sent to internment camps. To this day, the 442nd Infantry remains one of the most decorated squads in the U.S. Army.
"Go for Broke" was the motto for the 442nd unit.
Joe, Bart Kwan, and David So were inspired from this mantra that no matter what you're doing in life, you have to give it you all, go all in, and Go For Broke. They designed these high-quality t-shirts and sweaters with the motto in mind and donated them to AYC.
